Songster Beta: A Promising Upcoming Facebook App Atom and RSS Feed Catalog | 2 days 8 hours 44 minutes agoSongster Beta
Songster is a promising new game app on Facebook that is currently in its beta stage. In the game, you can purchase songs by using "game money," then mix them to your liking and create a short song. You have different types of songs to pick from where you can take a music loop and place it into your mix. There are multiple loops for vocals, guitar, bass and drums for you to choose from and place in slots that are available on the mix table. One of the detractors that I found in the beta stage of this app was that upon creating a song you werent given much space in order to create a longer song. Most songs you created would last only about thirty seconds or so.. However, that is something they are working to improve and thankfully your songs will be much longer than that. This adjustment will help give your musical creations a more complete feel.
Another aspect that I didnt care for at first about this app was that you cant mix and match different songs together. However, my research revealed that when the public beta opens up in March you will be able to mix multiple songs together. If we didnt have that option this game would have gotten really old, really fast and certainly would have lost its appeal. But knowing that we will be able to purchase these songs and mix the loops the way we want to with a selection of every song could make for a very addictive app.
You will earn "game money" in Songster by performing at one of many virtual venues. Of course only the first venue is available until you unlock bigger venues where you can gain more fans and earn more money. Each time you perform at a venue you will gain fans and earn money which varies based on the venue. But of course, the bigger the venue the better the prize. As you perform each show you will use up a certain amount of energy. To refill that energy you either wait for the time limit to end or you purchase more energy with Facebook coins. So, as you can see there is also a little more to the game than just creating a song.
I can really see this catching on and I cant wait for it to add the ability to mix multiple songs together. Without this feature currently it is not as impressive as it could be. However, knowing that we can look forward to this improvement makes me much more excited to see the end product. Im sure a number of people will try this game out since it is music related and offers the opportunity to create your own tunes. Since this is the beta version, we certainly havent seen its full potential. It appears that there are still options that are not available for me to experience and review for you at the moment, but I look forward to analyzing the new features in the near future. This current game leaves room for improvement, but upon doing so I predict that it will make for a mighty fun Facebook app. Furthermore, the ability to share songs with friends will definitely be a great hit!
Want to check out the beta for yourself? We have an Unlimited Use Backstage Pass Code for you guys to test out the game:

Baltic Dry: The Death Of An Index (SEA, DRYS, SFL, NAT) Atom and RSS Feed Catalog | 2 days 8 hours 46 minutes agoJust what does a cratering Baltic Dry Index mean? Frankly, it looks and acts as though it is signaling the next recession is here already rather than signaling that it is coming. That flies in the face of many current trends, but perhaps it is the woes of Europe. After all, Belgium is the first [...]

New Girl 1.11 Episode Review And Recap: Jess and Julia Atom and RSS Feed Catalog | 2 days 8 hours 43 minutes agoTime for a chick fight. Well, not exactly. New Girl is back after a short break with the usually goofiness humor. In "Jess and Julia" Nick is still involved with Julia. Problem is he is very unsure he wants to give what they have a "label." Jess is in need of legal help with a traffic ticket she has ignored. Leaving her to turn to Julia for help. Schmidt being confused on why is towels are always damp.
At the apartment having a chat she learns that Julia is not warming up to her. At all. Julia feels Jess is too girly and can get out of trouble whenever she wants using he cute "puppy dog eyes" or her charms. Yes, not to mention Cece and her lesbian friend Sadie agree that Jess tends to be very girly. Julia is very much uptight, dare I say bitchy. Yep that is about right.
Meanwhile, Winston being in a long dry spell. Decides to call Shelby. Just an old booty call from two years ago. Hmm, calling a girl after two years. I doubt he really has a shot.
The guys go to the bar wondering how Nick has so much game with the ladies. He tries his best to demonstrate why, showing off his unimpressive "Cocktail" skills.
At work Nick gets a visit from Julia that does not end well. A battle of who is sleeping around more goes down. Jess talking to Julia about weather Nick is dating other people did not help the matter, leaving they both mad at Jess.
At court, Julia shows up to help Jess with her legal woes. After her "guilty" plea. Jess confronts Julia not liking her. Its just Jess. Can anyone change her. I doubt it.
The best moment for me the entire episode were every scene Schmidt was in. To my delight, he is shirtless most of the time.
Looks as though things are looking up for Shelby and Winston. Jess and friends make fun of Schmidt--sans towel(again).
Enjoying some crochet girl time, Julia comes to talk to Jess about why its hard for to accept he the way she is. Leading up to her talking things out with Nick. They make it official.
So we finally, in the end get the answer to why Schmidts towels are continually moist. Its pretty damn funny, yet gross. Oh and that someone has a nasty habit of wearing Schmidts underwear as well.
Favorite lines:
- "I feel like Im being licked by a golden retriever" -Schmidt (after putting on a damp towel)
- "A tampon, why would you need this for cooking?"-Schmidt (to Jess after finding it in an apron)
- "Ill be putting my humidifier in my room, where nothing gets wet"-Schmidt (upset after someone unplugs it)
